History of
Thornview Seniors
Thornview Seniors Community Association began in 1975 when a small group of determined retirees met to organize a place to gather. When the Thorncliffe Greenview Community Centre was constructed space was alllocated for Thornview Seniors and with a small grant from New Horizons for Seniors for furnishings, Thornview Seniors had a spacious facility for its’ programs.
Thornview 55+ has always and, hopes to continue to be, a completely volunteer run association. We have no paid staff. Throughout the years, membership has grown and has consistently been around 400 members. From this membership, there have always been great leaders who have guided us through the inevitable challenges. We offer so many different activities that we have something for everyone.
